Education
I am an Alumni of Buffalo State College Fall 2002-Fall 2007. I earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Childhood (1-6) and Special Education (1-6). In the Fall of 2008 I moved home to Rochester, NY and enrolled into the Graduate program at Nazareth College of Rochester. It was there I earned my Masters of Science degree in Literacy (B-6). I also took an extension course to certify me to teach Early Childhood (B-2).
Experience
During my graduate studies I tutored students in grades 3, 4, and 5. I worked on building skills in reading and writing. I taught strategies and had students implement those strategies to enhance their comprehension, vocabulary, fluency, sight words,and mathmatics. I was also a long term substitute for a Reading teacher. I differentiated instruction to meet each students individual needs. I worked in small groups pulling students out for additional support in reading and writing.
